Conques

Today

At the unchristian hour 8.25, my old but loyal
cellphone woke me up with an aggressive vibration.
This is, mind you, not part of my stereotypical day,
as i normally get up at.. say 13.00 (naturally, i had
not succeeded in falling asleep earlier than 4 a.m.)
I dressed, and went outside my door, walked a couple of
steps and knocked on the door to my neighbour.
I ate breakfast with this neighbour of mine and the latest addition to the small and unlucky volunteer team in
this Rodez, sometimes referred to as a town. Consisting of a german girl. Anyone surprised?
Then followed 3 hours of french courses. I say no
more.
at 12 I attended a so called lunch meeting (Fancy
pancy, I am so grown up. or not.)
It was as boring as it was supposed to be.

After this, some hours of tired half-existence.
Lately, I have been feeling
crappy, and I cannot actually stand to be in the
company of my own thoughts (normally i find them very
pleasant, entertaining, not to say bright) Hence, I
have been trying to shut them out by listening to
music (not so efficient) watching movies (slightly
better) and playing music (very efficient). So.. I was
playing the guitar for a while, but gave up, as i am so
tired of the same chords over and over again and my own
inability to be innovative. I switched to flute, which
was more satisfying. I really love my flute. Then i
spent some time missing my piano, and feeling unhappy
that I'll probably be a lot less skilled upon my re
arrival in sweden, after 9 pianoless months.

At 17.00 I went down to the cellar, which is my
workplace. I spent two hours playing guitar and trying
my hardest not to be condescending or generally
impolite to my breakfast partners, which was slightly
facilitated by the fact that I had brought my guitar.
The reason for me bringing it showed up around 20.00,
in the shape of an old Russian man. His old fingers,
who had more or less not felt the frets of a guitar
since 30 years, had not forgotten and created the
rather unfamiliar but most welcome sound of russian
folk music.
The rest of the evening people were more or less
impressed by my playing, depending on their own level
of musical knowledge and interest.

(none or low level of knowledge, none or low interest
(might also mean terrible taste, according to me) =
Very slightly, or hardly impressed
none or low level of knowledge, high interest (or good
taste, by all means) = quite impressed
Medium knowledge, high interest = Impressed
High knowledge, bad taste = slightly or not very
impressed
High knowledge, good taste = Somewhat impressed, in a
sort of friendly way

OBS, this was partly a creation of my occasionally
vivid imagination, as no one with high knowledge was
present

)
At approximately 12.00 I left the animation room, got
my dearest little macbook and walked here. Our
"office", since internet is not working in my
apartment. nothing ever works in this god forsaken
country.
